City of Monroe John Glenn Water Treatment Plant Improvements
Scope 1: John Glenn WTP Filter No. 4 includes the following Work:
1. Construction of a new Filter No. 4 including all associated appurtenances.
2. Site grading, and erosion and sediment control, within the limits of disturbance and area of excavations required for the new Filter No. 4.
3. Filter No. 4 structure, including foundation, reinforced concrete bottom slab, walls, gullet, top slab, walkways, guide railing and extending Filter No. 4 bottom slab to include necessary length of bottom slab for future Sedimentation Basin No. 4.
4. Filter No. 4 structure primary components, including filter underdrain, filter media, backwash wastewater troughs, and air supply to underdrains.
5. Filter pipe gallery piping, valves and actuators, meter(s), and pipe supports, including air supply piping, filtered water, filter to waste, backwash supply, backwash wastewater, and sample piping.
6. Filter piping tie-ins to existing pipes.
7. Tie in to existing settled water piping (filter influent piping).
8. Chemical feed connections, piping, and valves for Filter No. 4, including chlorine and caustic.
9. Instrumentation, including turbidimeters, pressure gauges, rate of flow transmitters, loss of head transmitters, impulse piping for transmitters and meters, and supports for the instruments.
10. Programming and controls, including new panels for new filter instruments and controls and adjustments to existing blower control panel.
11. Electrical installation modification for new Filter No. 4 and ancillary equipment, including new conduit, wiring, junction boxes, pull boxes, and raceways.
12. Electrical lighting and grounding.
Scope 2: John Glenn WTP Chemical Storage Upgrades includes the following Work:
1. Relocation of electrical conduit involving the installation of new conduit and wire and supporting equipment
2. Demolition of caustic and ferric chloride bulk storage tanks, day tanks, feed pumps and associated piping and other supporting equipment in the existing Chemical Storage Building at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
3. Construction of a new concrete containment and canopy area for bulk ferric chloride storage, including bulk storage tanks (2), piping and other supporting equipment in an outdoor location adjacent to the existing Chemical Storage Building
4. Civil works including sumps, drainage, driveway and access gates
5. Construction of new caustic bulk storage tanks (2)
6. Construction of new ferric chloride day tank and feed pumps
7. Construction of new caustic day tank and feed pumps
8. Electrical and instrumentation for the new facilities
9. Procurement, installation, testing, and removal of a temporary day tank and feed pump systems
10. Coordination with the City of Monroe for the Maintenance of Plant Operations (MoPO) during expected outages and shutdowns
Scope 3: John Glenn WTP 2400V MCC Replacement includes the following Work:
1. Replacement of existing motor control centers.
2. Electrical demolition
3. Temporary power coordination
4. Controls integration
5. Startup and commissioning.
